Rev. Anne Montgomery was born in Halifax while her father was studying to become a United Church minister. When she was three, Anne’s mother lost her hearing; as a result Anne has a deep appreciation for handicapped persons.
Rev. Anne grew up in the Maritimes and Ontario. Her first degree is in Religion from Carleton University. Thinking that was good enough, she resisted a call to ministry; instead serving as youth leader, on church committees, church camping, and music.
After a career in Purchasing with the National Museums of Canada and later with Carleton University, it became impossible to ignore that persistent call. She enrolled at Queen’s Theological College (now Queen’s School of Religion), serving in various part-time ministries concurrently with her theological studies.
Rev. Anne has served on Stewardship, Education & Students, and First Nations’ Concerns Committees for the wider church. After her ordination in May, 2010, she was very happy to be settled as minister of St. Andrew’s United Church in Metcalfe. She is thankful for God’s blessings and prays for the Spirit’s guidance as we share our journey in faith together.
